Round Trip Ticket: Part Two
Jesus' descent into hell was not without reason. He was separated from the Father by our sins on the cross. He did suffer the "pains of death" but they could not hold Him. In fact, we see Him proclaiming His victory to the spirits in hell as He spoils principalities and powers making a shew of them openly (Col. 2:15). Christ has destroyed the work of the devil (who had the power of death) and has offered Himself in the flesh as the final sacrifice for our sins, and spiritually in heaven in the Holiest of Holies. After this He sits down at the right hand of the Father where we are privileged to sit in Him regarding our authority on the earth (Eph. 2:6).

The apostle Paul beseeches us to walk worthy of the ultimate calling to which every saint has been called in Christ. He first explains what that walk should look like, and then how God has enabled us to walk worthy of being His sons and daughters. Eph. 4:8-10 gives us insight into a deeper meaning of the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and how that enables us to truly walk in a way worthy of the highest of all callings.
