Luke, through this story of the Ethiopian, tells us that it is the gospel of God which changes the world. As it changed the Ethiopian, so will it change sinners today. Then they will show that change in our world.

In this passage we are taught that outside of God's salvation we are rebels against God and we will perish. The greatness of God's love is seen in the fact that He loved such a sinful world and that he made the greatest possible sacrifice - in giving His one and only Son.
