Moses is presented in this passage as a saviour that God was providing for Israel. He reflects God's knowledge of and concern for the suffering of the people of Israel, He identifies with the people and is rejected by own own people. In all these ways Moses foreshadows Jesus Christ and so we are given insights into the kind of Saviour that God has provided for us in Jesus Christ as we travel through the wilderness of this life to the promised land.
